Environmental Defence is a national charity, is an Associate Member of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and the Canadian operator of the Blue Flag program.
Environmental Defence protects the environment and human health. We research solutions. We educate. We go to court when we have to. All in order to ensure clean air, clean water and thriving ecosystems nationwide, and to bring a halt to Canada's contribution to climate change. Learn more
Globally, the Blue Flag program is administered by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization based in Copenhagen Denmark. The Blue Flag program began in France in 1985 and has since grown to include over 2,600 beaches in 36 countries. A Blue Flag symbolizes that a beach is clean and meets strict standards under water quality, environmental education, environmental management, and safety and services.
